Infrared Scanning

We use technology to prevent expensive breakdowns and promote the safe operation of your equipment.

Using infrared scanning technology enables us to discover and identify areas of abnormal heat in electrical and mechanical systems. This aids in predicting and preventing problems with your equipment and systems. We provide a full scanning service to help you avoid expensive breakdowns and guarantee optimal uptime for your business.

Electrical installation infrared scanning, sometimes referred to as infrared thermography, falls under predictive maintenance fault finding.

The fundamental benefit of infrared thermography is that it can identify electrical faults before they cause an element to fail.  They make it possible to see heat-producing objects which are invisible to the naked eye.

Infrared Scanning – What is it?

Using thermal imaging technology, we can detect heat from an electrical component, convert it to a temperature, and display a picture of the temperature. The heat signature is identified with the use of our specialist infrared cameras. The pictures are then analysed and put into an easy-to-follow report for the electricians.

Our electricians can rectify the situation before a breakdown occurs, preventing loss of production due to unplanned downtime.

The primary goal of infrared scanning is to confirm machinery is running normally and to detect abnormal heat patterns within a machine, indicating inefficiency and defects.

Infrared scanning detects the build-up of heat from any electrical element under stress, and predicts whether the equipment will fail or not even though it appears quite normal to the naked eye.
